Every athletic program has a beginning and HCA's starts with Jon Sinclair. Coach Sinclair was the pioneer of Defender Athletics as we know it today. During his tenure as Athletic Director, he was the first Varsity Coach of boys soccer, basketball and baseball in addition to his role as Assistant Headmaster. Sinclair was the first HCA coach to compile 100 wins and constantly strove for excellence. Jon Sinclair also founded HCA's first conference the Metro Christian Athletic Association in which the school competed until 1997.
