Facilities

Hawthorne Christian Academy is situated on the beautiful grounds of Hawthorne Gospel Church.
The twenty-two landscaped acres are conveniently located in Hawthorne, New Jersey.
Our History
In the 1950s, Hawthorne Gospel Church bought the land on which the facilities are now located. Over the years, the leadership of the church trusted God and moved as He directed. One goal was to meet the needs of the people. God blessed this attitude of service. The former pastor saw the need for a quality, Bible-based school to train young people in the ways of God. When a second building was built on the new property, it was designed with a school in mind. The Christian Education Building became the home of the newly formed Hawthorne Christian Academy in 1981. Today, classes are housed in three buildings.

Church Building

The Church has two large first grade classrooms and two sunny kindergarten rooms on its lower level. This is also the location of the nurse’s station, a music room, and Lower School chapel. Our After Care program is housed here. This building also serves as home to our rapidly growing preschool programs for three- and four-year olds.

The church sanctuary is used for concerts and special assemblies for the entire student body.

Education Building
The Education Building houses the classrooms for grades two through five, as well as the lower school library and computer lab. The art room, with its kiln, is set apart on the lower level and serves the entire student body.
Youth Ministries Center
The Youth Ministries Center was completed with a large addition in the fall of 2000. This accommodates middle school and high school with classrooms, a well-equipped science lab, a large computer lab, a choral music room, a newly renovated media center, and two gymnasiums. A band room, music production studio, and Makerspace room are in this location, along with a weight room. The school administrative and guidance offices are also located here.
Pavilion
The Pavilion has windows on three sides and offers a natural setting for our lunchroom. This facility is also used for general assemblies, dramatic presentations, and an extra gymnasium.
Athletic Fields

Athletics plays their home contests at both on and off campus facilities. HCA is home to a 450 seat competition gymnasium, a natural grass soccer facility, a fitness trail, and an on campus softball complex. HCA’s baseball programs play their home games at nearby facilities in both neighboring towns of Wyckoff and North Haledon.

There are two playground areas to accommodate different age levels.

And coming soon will be our new turf field, which will provide a competition venue for soccer and a home field for baseball.
