About Upper School

As a college preparatory school, graduation requirements are four years of Bible, English/literature, math (including Algebra I & II and geometry), and physical education, three years of history and science (including biology and chemistry), two years of a second language, and one semester of computer skills. The following Advanced Placement courses are offered: AP Calculus, AP English 11, AP English 12, AP United States History 11, AP American Government, and AP Computer Science. Students taking these courses have the opportunity to take the Advanced Placement Exams.

Elective subjects offered in high school include third and fourth year Spanish, physics, pre-calculus, selective topics in mathematics, anatomy & physiology, psychology, Apologetics and Current Issues, accounting, creative writing, twentieth century literature, introduction to computer programming, information systems, music history, music theory, vocal and instrumental ensembles, handbell choir, home economics, yearbook, art & culture, and art classes (which may include painting, drawing, calligraphy, visual arts, or studio art).

Extracurricular Activities

  • Competitions in music and art
  • Chorus, instrumental ensemble, handbells
  • Athletics: cross-country, soccer, basketball, golf, boys’ baseball, girls’ softball and volleyball, track
  • School plays, student council, yearbook
  • Field trips appropriate to field of study and annual overnight class trip
