The Hawthorne Christian Academy High School Music Department competed in the Music in the Parks Competition in Hershey, PA on May 12-13, 2017. Six HCA musical groups performed and competed against schools from across New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Ohio. Each HCA group received Superior ratings, and awards as follows:

  • Chorale - 1st Place, Mixed Choir I category
  • Servants of the King Women's Ensemble - 1st place, Women's Choir category
  • Servants of the King Men's Ensemble - 1st place, Men's Ensemble Category
  • Servants of the King - 1st place, Mixed Choir II category
  • Allegro Handbells - 1st place, Handbell Choir category
  • Prelude Handbells - 2nd place, Handbell Choir category

HCA student, Christine Brower, won Best Accompanist for her violin playing with the Women's Ensemble, and HCA’s select choir, Servants of the King, won Best Overall Choir with a perfect score of 100!
