Hawthorne Christian Academy held their annual Homecoming event on Saturday, September 16, 2017. The day was filled with athletic events, carnival-style games, fundraising, and even a dunk tank. The fun and excitement of the day buzzed in the air. This year’s event, however, stood out among its predecessors as a monumental stepping stone in the progress of the Academy. This was the year that HCA broke ground on its Turf Field Project. Head of School, David Seidman, Athletic Director, Tyler Van Dyk, and President of the Academy Committee, Paul Egedy, took up their golden shovels and officially commenced the digging process of the athletic field. The installment of HCA's Multi-Sport Turf Field is scheduled to transpire during the fall sports season, and will be complete by the winter months. Hawthorne Christian Academy is excited for this new addition to its Athletic Department, and extremely thankful to its generous (anonymous) donor, who made it all possible.
