Lower School

A Foundation for the Future

Lower School

“Since coming to HCA, I have learned so many things. I’ve learned more about God, computers, art, and how to read better, all while having fun!”
Evan C.
Lower School Student

The Lower School at HCA aims for high academic standards across the curriculum. Instruction incorporates hands-on learning for deeper comprehension, a focus on problem solving, and a connection with technology to prepare students as twenty-first century learners. Differentiated instruction provides the challenge and reinforcement that is essential for all students success. It is important that the needs of the whole child be considered, so that we can come alongside them when social and emotional needs arise, as they deveop academically, spiritually, and physically.

  • Biblical integration of all curricular instruction
  • Weekly chapels for worship & spiritual growth
  • Hands-on learning in math and science
  • Interactive Whiteboards/Displays in all K-5 classrooms
  • Computer cart and tablets available for research
  • GATES program for above-level qualifying students
  • Learning Center for small group reinforcement
  • Student Ambassador Program
  • Emphasis on reading instruction & comprehension
  • Emphasis on creative & formative writing
  • Relational community across all grade levels & among families
